A Miniature Test- The First Floor
![Picture](/uploads/2/5/1/6/25166296/7224335.jpg?169)
We knew we would not have any time to do a real test on our building before break, but we still wanted to do a miniature test to see how our first floor alone would survive an earthquake because we were concerned on whether or not our building was attached to the base securely enough. We did a small rough test, and...(drumroll)...nothing happened! We were happy about this, but we know there's so much more to come. This is only the beginning, and it's going to get more challenging the more we build.
The Real Deal
|
First TestHow Did It Go?The test went extremely well, because nothing happened to our building. No parts fell, and the structure did not uproot from the styrofoam board.
What We Need To Work OnThere aren't many things to work on because we achieved our goals of making an "earthquake-proof" building, but there are some areas of improvement. For example, we could try and make it bigger, or wider, to accommodate more people. In addition, we could make the design more complex by adding stairs or ladders to each floor. There is always a way we can make our building bigger and better.
